About Me | Matt Bailey

When not hopping in vehicles with strangers, I usually reside near Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I absolutely love traveling, personal development, living outside the box (or the norm), random adventures, comedy, making and watching movies, entrepreneurship, and all the possibilities in life. I also love meeting remarkable people from all over the world. I was born and raised in Canada and I recently received my Irish citizenship (my grandparents are Irish) which makes me a citizen of the EU now to. How Exciting!
My hometown is Fort.McMurray, Alberta, a city where most people makes lots of money working in the oil field. Although the money is absolutely insane for what you do, I couldn’t be bothered working a boring job that I hated for 40 years. I wanted to free myself from that trap, find my passions and purpose, feed my entrepreneurial soul, Jump out of airplanes, and live a location independent lifestyle while helping others do the same.
Although I was known being shy, afraid of breaking out of my box, and living a mostly unadventurous life, I changed myself and began randomly exploring my talents, fears, and getting myself into all sorts of adventures. I enrolled in public speaking classes to help break one of the worlds top fears, and adopted a mindset that before I die, I want to experience everything that makes my hair stand up.
Since breaking out of my box and developing a love for facing fears and adventure, I have:
- Sky-dived from 15,000 feet in Queenstown, New Zealand
- Bungy jumped off a bridge in Auckland, New Zealand
- Auditioned and got a lead role in a independent comedy movie
- Travelled 6 months alone throughout Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia
- Bought $780,000 worth of real estate with a $35,000 salary
- Travelled alone to various cities sleeping at strangers apartments
- Scuba dived day and night on the Great Barrier Reef
- Abseiled over 300 feet into caves in Waitomo, New Zealand
- Hang-glided over Byron Bay, Australia
- Surfed all over Australia, Bali, and the west coast of Canada
- Kayaked the seas of New Zealand & Sailed the Whitsunday’s
- Hiked and camped throughout the mountains of New Zealand and Canada
- Jumped in a car with strangers and travelled the east coast of Australia for 3 weeks camping on the side of roads
- Rented a scooter with strangers and traversed Bali, Indonesia
- White water rafted through the Rocky Mountains

Each adventure was absolutely amazing and continued to make me want to keep going! I learned more about myself in 6 months of travel then I ever had before. No one around me, including myself thought I would ever be someone who would jump out of planes and jump off bridges. Self-exploration, adventure, and travel have reignited my soul and allowed me to really explore my boundaries. I learned I don’t have many.
I realized life was to short to shy away from dreams and goals. Any day my life could be over and I wanted to experience everything I could. I wanted to see all the great landscapes this world has to offer and meet remarkable people along the way. I also wanted to inspire people around me to do the same. Slowly, I realized I had inspired a few friends to get into shape or to go traveling. It felt amazing to watch others take some risks and enjoy life. This urged me to keep on living how I wanted to live and encouraging others to forge their own paths.
A World of Inspiration let’s me do that on a bigger scale. It let’s me reach out to a global audience and inspire others to break out of their boundaries and inject some adventure into their lives. It allows me to help others realize that they don’t have to live the way others have told them to and that they can design their own life. I can now meet other amazing people all over the world and create a community of adventurous souls who can help inspire each other along the way.
Thanks for visiting the site and now that you know about me, why not tell me a little about you?
